It is one of the best known companies in the production of Madeira wines, founded in 1850 by João Pereira d’Oliveira. The company has a well-known establishment in the center of Funchal, where it receives visitors and tourists and offers to taste its three, five, ten and fifteen year old wines, all produced from the Tinta Negra Mole variety. But the big difference between this family business and many others lies in the huge stocks, which accumulated over the years, of Frasqueira wines, the noble Madeiran varieties Sercial, Verdelho, Boal, Malvasia, Terrantez and even a very rare Moscatel.
